Yes! Private RFQs allow you to control exactly which suppliers can see and respond to your request. This is ideal for sensitive projects, preferred supplier relationships, or when you want to limit competition to pre-qualified vendors.
How to Create a Private RFQ
- When creating or editing an RFQ, look for the Visibility setting
- Select "Private - Invite Only" instead of "Public"
- Complete and publish your RFQ as normal
Key Differences from Public RFQs
| Feature | Public RFQ | Private RFQ |
|---|---|---|
| Visibility in Marketplace | Visible to all suppliers | Hidden from marketplace |
| Search Engines | May be indexed | Never indexed (noindex) |
| Supplier Access | Any supplier can request access | Only invited suppliers can view |
| Credit Cost for Suppliers | Suppliers pay credits | Free for invited suppliers |
Inviting Suppliers
After publishing a private RFQ, you can invite suppliers in two ways:
- Platform Suppliers: Search and invite suppliers already registered on RFQmatch
- Email Invites: Send invitations to suppliers not yet on the platform - they'll automatically get access when they sign up
Important Notes
- Private RFQs are completely invisible in the supplier marketplace
- Suppliers can only access a private RFQ via your direct invitation
- You can invite unlimited suppliers to a single private RFQ
- Invited suppliers do NOT pay any credits to access your private RFQ
