Ecomark

In 2000, directive 1980/2000 (EC) issued under EU harmonization laws required the enactment of environmental labeling legislation to integrate an environmental labeling system within the country. While statutory regulations are still pending, Ecomark has developed the Ecomark Standard to raise consumer awareness and prepare manufacturing facilities and processes for eco-friendly production. In crafting this standard, the EU Eco-Label Regulation 66/2010/EC, updated in 2010, served as the certification framework. The Ecomark Standard criteria align with EU product-group criteria for environmental labeling. Ecomark has earned accreditation from a foreign accreditation body, authorizing the use of the Ecomark Label in product and service marketing and promotional activities.
